What to check before you sign
Door height and width against the largest sofa. An elevator that reaches the unit, not only the lobby. Unloading hours, including Friday. Contents insurance with the storage operator. The monthly rent is with that operator, not inside the moving price.
A unit on a floor without an elevator changes the moving price the same way a walk-up apartment does. Send a photo of the corridor before the date.
Moving-in day
Boxes are marked, furniture is wrapped, and heavy items go in first so a mattress does not block them. Someone with the gate code must be reachable. Without the code the crew waits, and a long wait is priced.
